Parking with a rental car in Taghazout is manageable once you understand how the village and surf spots work. Taghazout is not Marrakech medina you are not navigating a labyrinth of pedestrian alleys. But it is a small, increasingly busy village where on a good swell morning the roadside spots above the main breaks fill fast. This guide covers exactly where to park, what it costs and how early to arrive at each spot. Start with car rental delivery in Taghazout if you have not booked yet the car comes to you.

Parking in Taghazout Village
The main street running through Taghazout has free parallel parking along its full length. These are the easiest spots for quick errands picking up food, visiting a surf shop, meeting someone in the village centre. There is no time limit and no fee for street parking on the main road.
The catch is space. Taghazout has grown significantly as a surf destination and on busy days, particularly winter weekends when European visitors coincide with good swell, street spots fill up. If you are staying in a surf camp or riad outside the village centre which describes most accommodation in the area this is generally not a problem. Most camps have their own designated guest parking.
If you are arriving by car mid-day on a weekend and need to stop in the village itself, parking just off the main road before the village narrows is the practical solution. Leave the car and walk in rather than navigating the tight streets looking for a spot.
Anchor Point
Anchor Point is a 5-minute drive or 25 to 35 minute walk north of Taghazout village. Parking is roadside above the point cars line the verge of the cliff road overlooking the break. There is no formal car park. An attendant typically manages the area and collects a small fee of around 5-10 MAD per day.
The spots fill fast on good swell mornings. Arriving before 7 AM is the only reliable way to guarantee a space directly above the break in peak season. After that, latecomers park further up the road and walk down. The walk is short and many surfers prefer it because they can watch the swell and assess conditions from above before committing to paddling out.
Hash Point and Killers
Hash Point is in the village itself, accessible on foot from most accommodation. Parking near Hash Point means using the main street spots described above. Killers, just north of Anchor Point, follows the same roadside parking pattern as Anchor verge parking above the break, paid attendant, fill quickly on good days.
Panoramas
Panoramas is at the southern end of Taghazout village, accessible on foot from the village centre. If you are arriving by car, the same main street parking applies. This spot is better suited to beginners and is less competitive for parking because it draws a less dawn-patrol crowd than Anchor and Killers.
Imsouane
Imsouane is 70 km north of Taghazout, approximately 1 hour 15 minutes by car. The parking situation here is one of the most relaxed on this stretch of coast. A large free public car park sits above the bay it was upgraded in 2023 and handles the volume of surf vans and visitor vehicles comfortably. Arriving at a normal hour is fine even during good swell. Read the full surf trip guide from Taghazout for more on reaching Imsouane and other spots by car.
Paradise Valley
Paradise Valley has a small paid car park at the trailhead, managed by an attendant. Cost is approximately 10 MAD. It is not large and can fill during peak weekend days when tour groups arrive by midday. Visiting on a weekday morning is the most comfortable option for parking and for the experience itself far fewer people at the pools.
Surf Camp and Hotel Parking
Most surf camps and hotels in Taghazout, Tamraght and Aourir have designated guest parking outside the village streets. When your car is delivered to your accommodation, ask about overnight parking at the same time the answer is almost always yes, and it is usually free for guests. This makes overnight parking a non-issue for the majority of visitors.
Practical Tips
Keep a small supply of dirhams in the car at all times for parking attendants. Notes of 10 and 20 MAD are ideal. Attendants at surf spots do not accept card payment and paying in euros creates unnecessary friction. Do not leave valuables visible in the car at any surf spot parking area. This applies throughout Morocco regardless of whether an attendant is present. If you are driving to Taghazout from Agadir for the first time, factor in the village entrance being narrow arrive slowly and do not attempt to park on the main street in peak hours if you have a larger vehicle like the Duster.
